Rather expected game in Coruna where 8th ranked Ourense (8-8) was defeated by fifth ranked Leyma Basquet (11-5) 72-65 on Friday. American-Cape Verdean point guard Jeffrey Xavier (189-85, college: Providence, agency: Interperformances) fired 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. British forward Ashley Hamilton (201-88, college: Loyola Mary) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Serbian center Darko Balaban (211-89, agency: PEPI SPORT) produced 23 points and 6 rebounds and Canadian guard Connor Wood (193-93, college: Carleton) added 11 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leyma Basquet moved-up to third place, which they share with Breogan and Palma. Ourense lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Caceres and Alicante. Leyma Basquet will meet CB Granada (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Ourense will play against Lleida Basquet (#16) and hope to secure a win.
