Regular Season Round 15: Hawks - United 91-104

Date: January 4, 2020
No shocking result in a game in Gwynneville where fourth ranked United (11-9) defeated bottom-ranked Illawarra Hawks (5-14) 104-91. United made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game, while Illawarra Hawks only scored five points from the stripe. United forced 19 Illawarra Hawks turnovers. The game was also dominated by American players. It was an exceptional evening for forward Stanton Kidd (202-92, college: Colorado St.) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Shawn Long (208-93, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Power forward Josh Boone (208-84, college: UConn) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Darington Hobson (201-87, college: N.Mexico) added 12 points and 9 assists respectively for Illawarra Hawks in the defeat. Four United and five Illawarra Hawks players scored in double figures. Illawarra Hawks' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. United moved-up to third place, which they share with Taipans. Illawarra Hawks at the other side stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. United will have a break next round. Illawarra Hawks will play on the road against Adelaide 36ers (#5) in Findon and hope to win that game.
