Regular Season Round 15: AZS PCz - Jaroslaw 79-81

There was a minor upset in Czestochowa where 8th ranked AZS PCz (6-8) was edged by tenth ranked Jaroslaw (5-9) 81-79 on Saturday. Jaroslaw had a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. AZS PCz was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Artur Mikolajko (197-79) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Cezary Guminski (192-94) helped adding 13 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists. The best for the losing side was point guard Maciej Kocma (186-97) with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Piotr Lucka (194-96) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Jaroslaw moved-up to ninth place in Group C, which they share with Bielsko-Biala. AZS PCz lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Jaroslaw will face league's second-placed AZS AGH KR in Krakow in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
