Regular Season Round 31: Gunma - Kumamoto V. 96-72

Rather predictable result when second ranked Gunma (20-11) rolled over at home 5th ranked Kumamoto V. (12-20) 96-72 on Saturday. Gunma shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Quite impressive performance for Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Fumiya Sato (170-90) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: Mississippi St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import center David Weaver (207-87, college: Wake Forest) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Kumamoto V.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Gunma. They maintain second place with 20-11 record having four points less than leader Shinshu BW. Loser Kumamoto V. keeps the fifth position with 20 games lost. Gunma will face again Kumamoto V. (#5) at home in the next round.
