Very predictable result in Verona where third ranked Alpo VF (11-3) beat 8th ranked Sarcedo (7-7) 59-47 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Bosnian Marina Dzinic (190-92) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Swingman Marta Granzotto (173-92) chipped in 15 points. At the other side the best for losing team was British center Hannah Shaw (193-90, college: Miami, FL) who recorded 12 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Anna Colombo (175-92) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Alpo VF maintains third place in A2 with 11-3 record having just one point less than leader Faenza. Newly promoted Sarcedo dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Alpo VF will face Milano (#7) on the road in the next round. Sarcedo will play against Albino and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
