Regular Season Round 31: Fukushima - Shinshu BW 58-62

No shocking result in a game when first ranked Shinshu BW (24-6) beat on the road 5th ranked Fukushima (10-20) 62-58 on Saturday. Shinshu BW forced 19 Fukushima turnovers. Fukushima was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for Spanish-Dominican Orlando Sanchez (206-88, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 rebounds. American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with 18 points and 4 blocks for the winners. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. American forward Shaheed Davis (206-94, college: UCF) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Shinya Murakami (172-91) added 19 points and 4 assists in the effort for Fukushima. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Shinshu BW. They maintain first place with 24-6 record. Fukushima lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 20 games lost. Shinshu BW will have a break next round. Fukushima will play again at home against the league's leader Shinshu BW (#1) and hope to win that game.
