Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both second ranked Gandia and 3rd placed UCAM Murcia II had identical 10-4 record. This time Gandia used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Murcia 96-75 on Saturday night. Gandia forced 19 UCAM Murcia II turnovers and outrebounded them 42-20 including a 14-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. The best player for the winners was naturalized American center Shalawn Miller (205-74, college: UMass Lowell) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 17 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Forward Alan Kleinjan (195-97) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. Four Gandia players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Antonio Burgos (201-0) who recorded 17 points and 5 rebounds and Miguel Asensio (188-99) added 17 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Gandia. They maintain second place in Group E-B with 11-4 record having just two point less than leader Lliria. Loser UCAM Murcia II keeps the third position with five games lost. Gandia will face Calpe (#6) at home in the next round. UCAM Murcia II will play against L'Alfas in Alfas Del Pi and hope to win that game.
