Regular Season Round 15: Tralee - Eanna 80-77

The biggest surprise took place in Tralee where host Tralee (10-4) edged league's leader Eanna (9-4) 80-77 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Eanna. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Eanna 58-30 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Tralee looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Andre Berry (203-95, college: URI) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). The former international guard Paul Dick (193-91, college: Franklin Pierce) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. Tralee's coach Patrick Price used entire bench in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian forward Stefan Zecevic (196-93, college: Keiser) who recorded 14 points and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Mark Reynolds (197-84) added 18 points and 4 steals respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tralee keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Belfast Star. Newly promoted Eanna dropped to the third place with four games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Tralee. Eanna will play next round against Killester trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Dublin - Killester. Tralee will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked DCU Saints in Dublin.
