No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Caen (12-6) defeated at home 7th ranked Dax-Gamarde (9-9) 85-73 on Saturday. Caen looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was forward William Pfister (203-95, college: FAU) who scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Guyanese forward Gide Noel (200-93) chipped in 21 points. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international point guard Xane dAlmeida (181-83) who recorded 11 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Auston Calhoun (203-90, college: Bowling Green) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Caen maintains fifth position in Group A with 12-6 record. Newly promoted Dax-Gamarde keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. Caen will face higher ranked Tours (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dax-Gamarde will play against STB Le Havre and hope to win that game.
