Regular Season Round 16: Prat - Albacete 95-93

Fifth-ranked Albacete (7-9) was very close to win a game against second ranked CB Prat (12-4) on Saturday. CB Prat managed to secure only two-point victory 95-93. However their fans expected easier game. CB Prat forced 28 Albacete turnovers. Strangely Albacete outrebounded CB Prat 47-27 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by center Arnau Parrado (200-0) who scored that evening 27 points and 5 rebounds and forward Marc Blanch (195-82) supported him with 17 points and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds by Canadian forward Ryan Ejim (201-93, college: Carleton) did not help to save the game for Albacete. American-Dominican Eddy Polanco (190-94, college: SE Louisiana) added 23 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Four Albacete players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. CB Prat maintains second position in Silver with 12-4 record despite having the same number of points like the leader UBU Tizona. Loser Albacete dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. CB Prat will meet La Roda (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Albacete will play against Menorca (#4) and hope to secure a win.
