Regular Season Round 27: Gifu Swoops - Toyoda Gosei 91-80

The game between second ranked Toyoda Gosei (20-7) and eleventh ranked Gifu Swoops (6-20) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Toyoda Gosei was defeated by Gifu Swoops in Gifu 80-91. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Toyoda Gosei. It was a good game for American forward AJ John (203-96, college: UC Davis) who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Kentaro Yoshida (175-95) contributed with 16 points for the winners. American Luke Evans (203-91, college: CBU) answered with 16 points and point guard Hiroki Higashi (185-95) added 17 points in the effort for Toyoda Gosei. Four Gifu Swoops and five Toyoda Gosei players scored in double figures. Toyoda Gosei's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gifu Swoops maintains eleventh place with 6-20 record. Toyoda Gosei at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost. Gifu Swoops are again looking forward to face league's second-placed Toyoda Gosei in Aichi in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Toyoda Gosei will have a break next round.
