Regular Season Round 14: Rethymno - Ifestos 75-59

We should mention about the upset which took place in Rethymno, where higher ranked Ifestos (8-6) lost to tenth ranked Rethymno (6-8) in a road game 59-75 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ifestos. The game without a history. Rethymno led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Ifestos was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American point guard Conner Frankamp (185-95, college: Wichita St.) who scored 17 points. The other American import power forward Wesley Gordon (206-94, college: Colorado) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. American point guard Jerry Smith (189-87, college: Louisville, agency: Slash Sports) produced 16 points and Romanian Vlad Moldoveanu (206-88, college: American) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Rethymno moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Panionios and Iraklis. Loser Ifestos dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Rethymno will face higher ranked Peristeri GS (#4) in Athens in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ifestos will play at home against Panionios and hope to win that game.
