Second ranked Perfumerias Avenida (13-2) crushed at home 7th ranked Clarinos (8-7) by 52 points 89-37, which is the biggest margin this round. Perfumerias Avenida dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Clarinos' 18. Perfumerias Avenida forced 24 Clarinos turnovers and outrebounded them 39-22 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Perfumerias Avenida players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Clarinos' players. It was a good game for American guard Jewell Loyd (178-93, college: Notre Dame, agency: Wasserman) who led her team to a victory with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Latvian center Kristine Vitola (193-91, college: UTEP) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Perfumerias Avenida players scored in double figures. Perfumerias Avenida's coach Miguel Angel Ortega felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Rita-Esther Montenegro (188-82) answered with 13 points and 9 rebounds and the former international power forward Laura Herrera (190-89) added 8 points in the effort for Clarinos. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Perfumerias Avenida. They maintain second place with 13-2 record behind leader Girona. Newly promoted Clarinos dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Perfumerias Avenida's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Socinsa Bembibre (#14) on the road which should be another easy win for them. Clarinos will play against Gernika (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
