Regular Season Round 15: Ensino - Valencia 70-73

Eighth-ranked Maquinaria Ensino (6-9) gave a tough game to third ranked Valencia (11-4) in Lugo on Saturday. The visitors from Valencia managed to secure only three-point victory 73-70. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Queralt Casas (177-92) who led her team to a victory scoring 22 points. Mali power forward Meiya Tirera (186-86) helped adding 8 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Serbian point guard Aleksandra Stanacev (167-94) with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and Nigerian-American forward Atonye Nyingifa (180-90, college: UCLA) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Maquinaria Ensino players scored in double figures. Valencia maintains third place with 11-4 record having just three points less than leader Girona, which they share with Gernika. Maquinaria Ensino at the other side keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Valencia is looking forward to face Araski (#5) in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the next round. Maquinaria Ensino will play on the road against Zamarat in Zamora and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
