Regular Season Round 74: Phoenix Suns - Memphis G. 114-121

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Suns (14-22) against fourth ranked Grizzlies (15-22) on Sunday night. Host Suns were defeated by Grizzlies in a tough game in Phoenix 114-121. Grizzlies players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Lithuanian center Jonas Valanciunas (213-92) notched 30 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and forward Jaren Jackson-Jr (211-99, college: Michigan St.) supported him with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Even 40 points (!!!) and 6 assists by Devin Booker (198-96, college: Kentucky) did not help to save the game for Suns. Bahamas center DeAndre Ayton (216-98, college: Arizona) added 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Five Grizzlies and four Suns players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Grizzlies moved-up to third place, which they share with Portland TB. Suns at the other side keep the third position with 22 games lost.
