Regular Season Round 15: HyPo - ViVe 61-60

Bottom-ranked HyPo managed to get the second consecutive victory on Sunday night. This time they edged ninth-ranked ViVe in Hyvinkaa 61-60. And what about a second win in a row after ...fourteen consecutive losses. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But ViVe won fourth quarter 15-8. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. HyPo dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to ViVe's 34. The best player for the winners was Serbian power forward Kristina Baltic (188-90) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Titta-Riina Lepisto (182-90) chipped in 17 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Abria Trice (185-92, college: ECU, agency: LBM Management) who recorded 23 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import swingman Amy Griffin (183-96, college: La Salle) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively. HyPo maintains tenth place with 2-14 record. Loser ViVe keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. HyPo will meet higher ranked Torpan Pojat (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ViVe will play against the league's leader Kouvottaret where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
