Regular Season Round 15: Valmontone - Avellino 98-63
Date: January 5, 2020
Rather expected game when 14th ranked Avellino (2-11) was rolled over on the road by eleventh ranked Valmontone (7-8) 98-63 on Sunday. Valmontone made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Avellino was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Luca Bisconti (208-82, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Matteo Carida (188-95) chipped in 26 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Four Valmontone players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Domenico Marzaioli (190-91, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who recorded 14 points and naturalized Spanish swingman Bruno Ondo-Mengue (193-92, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valmontone moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with Corona Platina. Loser Avellino keeps the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Valmontone will face higher ranked Roma Luiss (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Avellino will play against Scauri (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
