Important game to mention about took place in London. First ranked London Lightning (5-1) saved a 3-point victory at home edging second-ranked Sudbury F. (2-3) 139-136 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sudbury F.. London Lightning players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Sudbury F. was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Canadian guard Garrett Williamson (196-88, college: St.Joseph's) stepped up and scored 30 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners and American center Randy Phillips (203-95, college: Radford) chipped in 28 points and 8 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). American guard Jaylen Bland (190-93, college: UC Riverside) responded with 44 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 9 assists and the other American import forward Marlon Johnson (208-94, college: N.Mexico Highlands) scored 32 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Sudbury F.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. London Lightning have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-1 record. Sudbury F. at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. London Lightning will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sudbury F. will play on the road against Halifax Hurricanes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
