Regular Season Round 16: Valladolid - Delteco GBC 81-77

The game between Top Four teams took place in Valladolid. First ranked host Carramimbre (13-3) defeated their biggest opponent Gipuzkoa (12-4) 81-77. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Gipuzkoa. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Gipuzkoa 38-27 including 23 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of center Sergio De-La-Fuente (198-89) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds and Ivorian-Nigerien center Aboubacar Aboubacar-Hima (207-94) who added 16 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Carramimbre players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Johnny Dee (183-92, college: San Diego) responded with 25 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and guard Xavi Oroz (192-96) scored 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Carramimbre have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-3 record. Gipuzkoa at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. Carramimbre are looking forward to face Magia Huesca (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gipuzkoa will play against Caceres Basket (#9) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
