The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Novipiu Casale as it allowed them to take a leadership position in A2. Novipiu Casale defeated 8th ranked SS Napoli at home 77-62. Novipiu Casale dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to SS Napoli's 24. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward DeShawn Sims (203-88, college: Michigan) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. The former international power forward Niccolo Martinoni (203-89) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Novipiu Casale's coach Mattia Ferrari allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international point guard Massimo Chessa (188-88) replied with 18 points and the former international point guard Diego Monaldi (185-93) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for SS Napoli. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Newly promoted SS Napoli dropped to the eleventh place with nine games lost. SS Napoli will play next round against Basket Scafati trying to get back on the winning streak. Novipiu Casale will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Edilnol Bl at Biella.
