Very significant was Lakers' (#1, 29-7) victory against 3rd ranked Pistons (13-23) 106-99. Lakers dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Pistons' 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Lakers made 20 blocks. The best player for the winners was LeBron James (203-84) who had a triple-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists. Center Anthony Davis (208-93, college: Kentucky) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 8 blocks. Guard Derrick Rose (190-88, college: Memphis) produced 28 points and 5 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and center Andre Drummond (208-93, college: UConn) added 12 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for the guests. Four Lakers and five Pistons players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Lakers (29-7) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Loser Pistons keep the third place with 23 games lost.
