Regular Season Round 17: Milano - Cantu 83-89

An interesting game took place in Milano where 4th placed Armani Milano (10-6) was upset on its own court by eleventh ranked Cantu (8-8) 89-83. American forward Jason Burnell (201-97, college: Jacksonville St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Wes Clark (183-94, college: Buffalo) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Cantu players scored in double figures. Argentinian-Spanish power forward Luis Scola (206-80) answered with 21 points and Serbian Vladimir Micov (201-85, agency: BeoBasket) added 20 points in the effort for Armani Milano. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cantu moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Varese and Venezia. Armani Milano at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Cantu's next round opponent will be higher ranked Brindisi (#7) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Armani Milano will play against Treviso and hope to win that game.
