Regular Season Round 24: Shenzhen L. - Guangzhou LL 96-90

Date: January 5, 2020
Not a big story in a game in Shenzhen where 18th ranked Long-Lions (5-20) were defeated by twelfth ranked Leopards (12-13) 96-90 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Leopards forced 20 Long-Lions turnovers. Long-Lions were plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international center MuHao Li (218-92) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Five Leopards players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian Andrew Nicholson (206-89, college: St.Bonaventure) who recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds and U.S. Virgin Islands-American forward Marcus Georges-Hunt (196-94, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Leopards maintains twelfth position with 12-13 record. Long-Lions lost thirteenth consecutive game. They keep the eighteenth place with 20 games lost. Leopards will face higher ranked Flying Leopards (#4) in Yingkou in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Long-Lions will play on the road against Royal Fighters (#6) in Beijing and hope to win that game.
