Regular Season Round 12: Raholan Pyrkiva - Namika Lr 99-78

There was no surprise in Tampere where 8th ranked Namika Lr (4-8) was outplayed by second ranked Raholan Pyrkiva (10-2) 99-78 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 99-78. Raholan Pyrkiva outrebounded Namika Lr 43-30 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Namika Lr's players. The best player for the winners was Bulgarian guard Angel Mavrodiev (183-91) who scored 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Lauri Tiainen (193-90) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Aubrey Conerly (182-83, college: Jacksonville) who recorded 17 points and swingman Anttoni Tapio (193-92) added 14 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Raholan Pyrkiva maintains second position in Division with 10-2 record behind leader Tapiolan Honka. Newly promoted Namika Lr keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. Raholan Pyrkiva will meet league's leader Tapiolan Honka on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Namika Lr will play against Karkkila (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
