Regular Season Round 13: Empoli - Sesto SG 74-68

An interesting game took place in Empoli where 6th ranked Sesto SG (7-6) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Empoli (6-7) 74-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sesto SG. Empoli made 23-of-29 charity shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Empoli had a 35-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Sesto SG helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Maci Morris (181-96, college: Kentucky) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Guard Stefania Trimboli (176-96) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Brooque Williams (175-89, college: California, PA, agency: Two Points) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) and point guard Costanza Verona (170-99) added 16 points in the effort for Sesto SG. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sesto SG's coach Cinzia Zanotti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Empoli moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Broni and Vigarano. Sesto SG at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Empoli's next round opponent will be league's leader Schio at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
