Regular Season Round 14: Hamar - Vestri 106-86

An interesting game for Hamar (11-2) which hosted in Hamar 4th ranked Vestri (6-5). Third ranked Hamar had an easy win 106-86. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Vestri. The game was mostly controlled by Hamar. Vestri managed to win fourth quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Vestri's 40. They outrebounded Vestri 47-34 including 19 on the offensive glass. Hamar looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American guard Everage Richardson (191-85, college: Coastal) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Bjarni Larusson (195-90) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Hamar players scored in double figures. Slovenian point guard Matic Macek (188-94) replied with 27 points and 7 rebounds and Croatian point guard Toni Jelenkovic (180-97) added 18 points and 5 assists in the effort for Vestri. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hamar moved-up to second place, which they share with Breidablik. Vestri at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Hamar is looking forward to face FSU (#6) in Selfoss in the next round. Vestri will play at home against the league's leader Hottur and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
