There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Torino (4-9) defeated at home higher ranked Vigarano (6-7) 86-76 on Monday. Torino made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game, while Vigarano only scored ten points from the stripe. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Vigarano was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Ilaria Milazzo (170-94) stepped up and scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists (made all of her eight free throws) for the winners and forward Maria Barberis (180-95) chipped in 22 points and 5 assists. Four Torino players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Moesha Kinard (175-96, college: Lamar, agency: Two Points) responded with 25 points and 4 assists and naturalized American point guard Beatrice Attura (170-94, college: Northwestern St., agency: LBM Management) scored 16 points. Torino moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Vigarano keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Torino will face higher ranked Venezia (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
