Regular Season Round 14: Skrljevo - Split 69-97

Very expected game when 10th ranked KK Skrljevo (3-11) was crushed at home by third ranked Split (10-4) 97-69. Split dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to KK Skrljevo's 28. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Forward Darko Bajo (209-99, agency: BeoBasket) notched 16 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and American point guard James Washington (182-87, college: MTSU) supported him with 16 points and 8 assists. Five Split players scored in double figures. Split's coach Ante Grgurevic felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 21 points and 6 rebounds by Antonio Boban (205-93, agency: PEPI SPORT) did not help to save the game for KK Skrljevo. Forward Ivan Batur (201-91) added 17 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Split have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 10-4 record having just three points less than leader Zadar, which they share with Gorica. KK Skrljevo at the other side dropped to the eleventh place with 11 games lost. Split will play against league's second-placed Cibona in Zagreb in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. KK Skrljevo will play on the road against Alkar (#8) in Sinj and hopes to get back on the winning track.
