Regular Season Round 25: Shanghai S. - Beijing Ducks 77-84

Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Sharks (8-18) lost to fifth ranked Beijing Ducks (17-9) in Shanghai 77-84 on Tuesday. Beijing Ducks made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Beijing Ducks outrebounded Sharks 41-28 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Beijing Ducks made 8 blocks. It was a very good performance for Croatian-American center Justin Hamilton (213-90, college: LSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. Nigerian-American power forward Ekpe Udoh (208-87, college: Baylor) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Beijing Ducks' coach Giannis Christopoulos used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American point guard Ray McCallum (190-91, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Wasserman) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 assists and 4 steals and Lithuanian power forward Donatas Motiejunas (213-90) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Sharks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Beijing Ducks moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Sharks lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 18 games lost. Beijing Ducks will face Eagles (#10) in Qingdao in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sharks will play on the road against Pioneers (#19) in Tianjin and hope to win that game.
