Regular Season Round 25: Qingdao E. - Fujian S. 116-101

Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Eagles (15-10) won against 14th ranked Sturgeons (11-15) in Qingdao 116-101 on Tuesday. Eagles dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Sturgeons' 42. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Sturgeons were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American power forward Dakari Johnson (213-95, college: Kentucky) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds. Bulgarian-American point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: Wasserman) contributed with a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Eagles' coach Bin Fan used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) answered with 33 points (!!!) and 7 assists and the former international Zhelin Wang (214-94) added 20 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Sturgeons. Five Eagles and four Sturgeons players scored in double figures. Eagles maintains tenth place with 15-10 record. Loser Sturgeons dropped to the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. Eagles will face higher ranked Beijing Ducks (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sturgeons will play against the league's second-placed Xinjiang FT (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
