Regular Season Round 12: Kraljevo - Partizan 96-62

The most interesting game of round 12 was a derby match between two teams from Serbia. Fifth ranked Kraljevo outleveled visiting Partizan (4-8) 96-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Partizan. The game without a history. Kraljevo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Partizan's 30. Kraljevo forced 23 Partizan turnovers and outrebounded them 46-28 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Partizan's players. 28 personal fouls committed by Partizan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American guard Shakyla Hill (170-96, college: Grambling St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 8 steals. Canadian power forward Kim Pierre-Louis (183-93, college: UMass) contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners. Five Kraljevo players scored in double figures. Milica Indjic (-92) replied with 19 points and point guard Maja Popovic (169-2) added 10 points in the effort for Partizan. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kraljevo maintains fifth position with 8-4 record. Partizan at the other side dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Banovici. Kraljevo are looking forward to face league's leader Montana 2003 on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Partizan's supporters also look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beograd Crvena Zvezda.
