Regular Season Round 21: Inter Bratislava - Lucenec 93-61

Date: January 8, 2020
An interesting game for Inter Bratislava (16-2) which hosted in Bratislava second-best Lucenec (12-7). First ranked Inter Bratislava had an easy win 93-61. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Lucenec. Inter Bratislava looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Lucenec's players. It was a good game for international guard Mario Ihring (192-98, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). International center Michal Fusek (224-95, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Four Inter Bratislava players scored in double figures. Puerto Rican-American Melsahn Basabe (201-92, college: Iowa) answered with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and American point guard Mike Caffey (183-93, college: LBSU) added 11 points in the effort for Lucenec. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Inter Bratislava have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 16-2 record. Lucenec at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost. Inter Bratislava are looking forward to face Prievidza (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lucenec will play against Handlova and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
