Regular Season Round 17: Puente Alto - Los Leones 104-94

Rather expected game when 4th placed Los Leones (11-12) were defeated on the road by first ranked Puente Alto (16-6) 104-94 on Wednesday. Puente Alto looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Argentinian forward Nicholas Wadell (201-89) stepped up and scored 26 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American-Nigerien swingman Tanksley Efianayi (198-94, college: UCF) chipped in 30 points and 6 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Four Puente Alto players scored in double figures. Italian-Argentinian center Omar Canton (206-82) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and American forward Darnell Dodson (201-89, college: S.Mississippi) scored 25 points and 7 rebounds. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Puente Alto. They maintain first place with 16-6 record. Loser Los Leones dropped to the third position with 12 games lost. Puente Alto will face league's second-placed Deportivo Valdivia on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Los Leones will play against Universidad de Concepcion and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
