It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Keflavik. The game without a history. KR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Keflavik to just 5 points in third quarter and to 12 points in second half. KR held Keflavik to an opponent 21.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.7 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Keflavik 47-32 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. KR brought some defensive toughness making 11 blocks. It was a good game for American guard Danielle Rodriguez (178-93, college: Utah) who led her team to a victory with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. The former international Hildur Kjartansdottir (188-94, college: UTRGV) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Venezuelan Daniela Wallen (180-95, college: Oklahoma City) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and international center Salbjorg Saevarsdottir (185-91) added 4 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Keflavik. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KR maintains second place with 11-4 record having just two points less than leader Valur. Keflavik at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. KR will play against Breidablik (#7) in Kopavogur in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Keflavik will play on the road against Haukar (#5) in Hafnarfjordur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
