Important game to mention about took place in Lugo. Thirteenth ranked Almansa (7-10) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Leche Rio Breogan (11-6) 86-85 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Leche Rio Breogan. Almansa made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Serbian Nikola Cvetinovic (203-88, college: Akron) saved the victory by scoring 22 points. American forward Stephen Maxwell (201-93, college: CSUN, agency: Two Points) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Almansa players scored in double figures. Dominican swingman Dagoberto Pena (198-88, college: Marshall) answered with 22 points and American Marshawn Powell (201-90, college: Arkansas, agency: HMS) added 18 points in the effort for Leche Rio Breogan. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Almansa moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Huesca and Castello. Leche Rio Breogan at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Melilla and Palencia. Almansa will play against higher ranked Ourense (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Leche Rio Breogan will play against Castello (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
