No shocking result in a game in San Sebastian where second ranked Gipuzkoa (13-4) defeated 9th ranked Caceres Basket (8-9) 72-64 on Friday. They outrebounded Caceres Basket 45-32 including 31 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American point guard Johnny Dee (183-92, college: San Diego) who scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. American-Italian guard Adam Sollazzo (198-90, college: ETSU, agency: HMS) chipped in 19 points. American center Arkeem Joseph (206-94, college: Texas A&M Int.) produced 12 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Ricardo Uriz (188-80) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gipuzkoa maintains second place with 13-4 record behind leader Valladolid. Loser Caceres Basket dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. Gipuzkoa will face CB Granada (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Caceres Basket will play against Magia Huesca (#13) and hope to win that game.
