An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Adelaide. Second ranked Boomers faced 4th placed Adelaide Lightning. Guests from Melbourne (13-4) defeated host Adelaide Lightning (9-8) 74-69. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Adelaide Lightning. The former international center Cayla George (192-89) stepped up and scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and international power forward Eziyoda Magbegor (176-99) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Boomers' coach Guy Molloy used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American forward Brianna Turner (190-96, college: Notre Dame) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and the former international guard Nicole Seekamp (178-92, college: S.Dakota) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. Four Adelaide Lightning players scored in double figures. Boomers have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 13-4 record behind leader Southside. Loser Adelaide Lightning keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Boomers will meet Sydney Uni Flames (#6) on the road in the next round. Adelaide Lightning will play against Townsville Fire and hope to secure a win.
