Regular Season Round 15: Almeria - Mijas Quabit 72-70

Very expected game when 9th ranked Mijas Quabit (3-9) was edged on the road by fourth ranked Almeria (8-5) 72-70 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was guard Luis Rueda (186-96) who scored 21 points. Forward Joaquin Reyes (196-96) chipped in 8 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Enrique Cortes-Zotes (189-96, college: MSU Denver) who recorded 12 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Fernando Ferruz (180-97) added 14 points respectively. Four Mijas Quabit players scored in double figures. Mijas Quabit's coach Rai Sanchez let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Almeria. They maintain fourth place in Group D-A with 8-5 record. Mijas Quabit lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom position with nine games lost. Almeria will face Cazorla (#7) on the road in the next round. Mijas Quabit will play against the league's leader CAM E.Soler and hope to win that game.
