Regular Season Round 17: Marbella - Zamorano 85-53

Date: January 11, 2020
There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Marbella (6-11) outleveled at home higher ranked Zamorano (8-9) 85-53 on Saturday. Marbella dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Zamorano's 26. They outrebounded Zamorano 39-28 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Martyce Kimbrough (185-96, college: Findlay, OH, agency: Duran International) stepped up and scored 17 points for the winners and his fellow American import guard Taylor Cameron (196-91, college: Winona St., agency: Promo Sport ID) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Marbella players scored in double figures. American forward Ryan Nicholas (201-91, college: Portland) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and forward Walter Cabral (200-95, agency: Dynamics Global Management) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Marbella maintains eleventh place in Silver with 6-11 record. Loser Zamorano dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. Marbella will face higher ranked Estela (#3) in Santander in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
