Regular Season Round 80: Denver N. - Cleveland C. 103-111

Date: January 11, 2020
The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Nuggets (27-11) in Denver on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Cavaliers (12-27) 111-103. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Nuggets. They outrebounded Nuggets 55-42 including a 43-31 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cavaliers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Kevin Love (208-88, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds and Canadian forward Tristan Thompson (206-91, college: Texas) who added 18 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Serbian center Nikola Jokic (209-95, agency: BeoBasket) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and Canadian swingman Jamal Murray (198-97, college: Kentucky) scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. Five Cavaliers and four Nuggets players scored in double figures. Nuggets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cavaliers maintains fifth position with 12-27 record. Nuggets at the other side still keep top place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Miami Heat and LA Clippers. Cavaliers will have a break next day, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nuggets will play at home against the league's second-placed Clippers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
