Regular Season Round 15: Picken Claret - Valencia 2 71-70

There was a surprise result in Leioa where seventh ranked Picken Claret (3-10) edged second-best Valencia-2 (9-4) 71-70 on Saturday. Picken Claret dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Valencia-2's 28. Picken Claret forced 25 Valencia-2 turnovers. The best player for the winners was Carlos Fernandez who scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Jordi Albarran chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Picken Claret's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Millan Jimenez (198-2) who recorded 21 points and 9 rebounds and center Alonso Faure (205-2) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Newly promoted Picken Claret maintains seventh place in Group E-A with 3-10 record. Loser Valencia-2 dropped to the third position with four games lost. Picken Claret will face higher ranked Tabernes (#6) in Tabernes Blanques in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Valencia-2 will play at home against Paterna and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
