Very predictable result when third ranked Ardoi (10-3) won against 9th ranked UCAM Jairis (5-8) in Alcantarilla 52-40 on Saturday. Ardoi forced 20 UCAM Jairis turnovers. It was a very good performance for Argentinian center Diana Cabrera (184-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Forward Beatriz Royo (176-91) contributed with 7 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Serbian swingman Olga Stepanovic (180-94) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and forward Maria Cueto (175-96) added 6 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for UCAM Jairis. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Ardoi. They keep a position of Group B leader, which they share with Gran Canaria and Sant Adria. Loser UCAM Jairis keeps the ninth place with eight games lost. Ardoi will face Girona (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. UCAM Jairis will play against Picken Claret and hope to win that game.
