Genero's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after 12 consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they outplayed much higher ranked Barca CBS (8-5) 78-51 on Saturday. Genero made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Barca CBS only scored four points from the stripe. Worth to mention a great performance of Yaiza Garcia who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Regina Gomez (173-82) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Genero players scored in double figures. Forward Ana Alonso (190-90) answered with 14 points and power forward Xenia Artiga (183-99) added 7 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Barca CBS. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Genero maintains fourteenth place in Group B with 1-12 record. It was Barca CBS's third loss in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Girona and Unicaja. Genero's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Las Palmas Gran Canaria.
