Regular Season Round 18: Fortitudo BO - Pesaro 77-80

Pesaro can celebrate finally their first win this season after 16 consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they edged much higher ranked Fortitudo BO (9-8) on the road game in Bologna 80-77 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American Troy Williams (201-94, college: Indiana) who scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Serbian guard Vasa Pusica (196-95, college: Northeastern) chipped in 15 points. Four Pesaro players scored in double figures. Pesaro's coach Federico Perego used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Henry Sims (208-90, college: Georgetown) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points, 19 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks and the former international Pietro Aradori (194-88) added 21 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Pesaro maintains seventeenth position with 1-16 record. Newly promoted Fortitudo BO dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with Venezia. Pesaro are looking forward to face league's second-placed Sassari at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Fortitudo BO will play against Umana Venezia (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
