Pacific Caesar (1-1) recorded a loss in Surabaya. Hosts were defeated by Indonesia P. (1-1) 88-74. Indonesia P. outrebounded Pacific Caesar 44-30 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. British V.Islands center Lester Prosper (210-88, college: Old Westbury) notched a double-double by scoring 26 points and 21 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international Arki Wisnu (187-88) supported him with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Indonesia P. players scored in double figures. Even 24 points and 9 rebounds by American-Filipino guard Taylor Statham (198-92, college: CS San Bernar.) did not help to save the game for Pacific Caesar. American-Dominican swingman Luis Jacobo (196-91, college: PFW) added 15 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Indonesia P.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Jakarta Pelita Jaya.
