Regular Season Round 9: Zabiny Brno - Orange Lions 72-53

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Czech Zabiny Brno as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Zabiny Brno smashed 7th ranked Dutch Orange Lions at home 72-53. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Orange Lions. The game without a history. Zabiny Brno led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They outrebounded Orange Lions 49-35 including 40 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was swingman Petra Zaplatova (175-91) who scored 16 points and 4 assists. Natalie Stoupalova (185-98) chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds. Zabiny Brno's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Loyce Bettonvil (185-93, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) who recorded 9 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Karin Kuijt (170-90) added 16 points respectively. Zabiny Brno (7-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Orange Lions at the other side keep the seventh place with three games lost.
