Regular Season Round 8: Pauian - Yulon Luxgen 83-84

Important game to mention about was the one when second ranked Yulon Luxgen (8-6) saved a 1-point victory edging 3rd ranked Pauian (6-8) 84-83 on Saturday evening. Strangely Pauian outrebounded Yulon Luxgen 47-33 including 36 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American point guard Marcus Keene (180-95, college: Cent Michigan) who scored that evening 36 points (!!!) and Lei Sai (-86) supported him with 8 points and 14 rebounds. Even a double-double of 24 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists by Lithuanian swingman Edvinas Seskus (196-95) did not help to save the game for Pauian. Power forward Yen-Tsung Shih (194-92) added 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for Yulon Luxgen. Four Pauian players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Yulon Luxgen maintains second position with 8-6 record having just two points less than leader Taiwan Beer. Pauian lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost. Yulon Luxgen will play against league's leader Taiwan Beer in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pauian will play against Jutai Techn. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
