Second Stage Round 5: Prinemanye - GOCOR-Sozh 85-99

Another interesting game for GOCOR-Sozh (5-8) which played in Grodno against 7th ranked Prinemanye (4-9). Eighth ranked GOCOR-Sozh had an easy win 99-85. The game was mostly controlled by GOCOR-Sozh. Prinemanye was better in fourth quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. GOCOR-Sozh dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Prinemanye's 36. GOCOR-Sozh forced 25 Prinemanye turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Forward Yegor Dudov (190-98) stepped up and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and guard Timofey Verevkin (185-93) chipped in 24 points and 4 steals. Forward Sergey Lemeshevskiy (193-1) responded with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Aleksandr Kalugin (186-1) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Prinemanye's coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for GOCOR-Sozh. They moved-up to seventh place. Prinemanye at the other side dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Brest. GOCOR-Sozh will play against RCOP Tsmoki (#10) in Minsk in the next round. Prinemanye will play at home against Brest and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
