Regular Season Round 10: Chartres - Aulnoye 69-59

The most surprising game was the first loss of Aulnoye (9-1) on the court of fifth ranked Chartres on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Chartres 69-59. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Aulnoye. Chartres forced 20 Aulnoye turnovers and outrebounded them 48-28 including a 36-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Chartres made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Joelly Belleka (163-95) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds. American center Leeza Burdgess (194-90, college: La Salle) contributed with 9 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Four Chartres players scored in double figures. The former international forward Florine Basque (184-92, agency: Areus Sports) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds and American Shanavia Dowdell (188-87, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: LBM Management) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Aulnoye. Aulnoye's coach Mickael Petipa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chartres (6-4) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Angers. Aulnoye at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Reims. Chartres is looking forward to face Angers (#4) on the road in the next round. Aulnoye will play against Reze and is hoping to win this game.
