Leading Omegna (13-2) recorded its second loss on the court of fifth ranked Piombino on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Piombino 62-54. The winners were led by swingman Saverio Mazzantini (195-95, agency: Players Group) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and center Giacomo Eliantonio (205-88) supported him with 9 points and 11 rebounds. Even a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds by forward Marco Arrigoni (199-91, agency: Agency) did not help to save the game for Omegna. Power forward Jacopo Balanzoni (205-93) added 10 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Piombino (10-5) moved-up to fourth place in B, which they share with Monfalcone. Loser Omegna still keeps top position with two games lost. Piombino will meet Capo d'Orlando (#8) on the road in the next round. Omegna will play against Lucca (#9) and hope to secure a win.
